The 6-Month English Teaching Internship offers a valuable opportunity to gain real classroom experience by teaching English in government and private schools in Sri Lanka’s North Central Province. Interns will work under the supervision of qualified local teachers, gaining insight into the country’s education system, teaching methods, and classroom practices.
During the internship, participants will prepare lesson plans, create teaching materials, apply effective classroom techniques, and assist in student progress monitoring. This hands-on experience enhances teaching, communication, and leadership skills while contributing to the educational development of rural students.
Interns will be picked up from the airport upon arrival, and shared accommodation and three local meals per day will be provided throughout the program. Participants will teach 5–6 hours on weekdays, with weekends off for rest and cultural exploration. Lanka Volunteer Travel (LVT) will ensure all safety, security, and daily transportation between accommodation and schools.
Upon successful completion, participants will receive a service letter recognizing their teaching experience and contribution.
