Lanka Volunteer Travel is a registered organization in Sri Lanka, dedicated to creating joyful, meaningful, and affordable travel experiences that connect people from around the world with real local communities. We offer international volunteers the opportunity to live, learn, and work alongside Sri Lankan communities, turning travel into a truly enriching journey with lasting social impact.
Our programs include community volunteering, internships, teaching English, and carefully planned round tours across Sri Lanka, allowing travelers to experience the country’s culture, nature, and heritage while supporting local communities.
We believe great travel should be accessible, safe, and ethical. With low and transparent rates, trusted local partnerships, safe accommodations, and continuous support, we ensure every journey is joyful, meaningful, and secure.

What we do-
Lanka Volunteer Travel operates in the North Central Province of Sri Lanka, focusing on the Polonnaruwa and Anuradhapura districts. These semi-rural areas, once affected by conflict more than a decade ago, are now peaceful and full of diversity, where Sinhala, Muslim, and Tamil communities live together in harmony. Today, Sri Lanka is a safe and welcoming destination, and Lanka Volunteer Travel ensures that every volunteer’s safety, security, and comfort are fully taken care of.
Volunteers enjoy hygienic local food and comfortable shared accommodation, offering a genuine Sri Lankan living experience.
Throughout our volunteering programs, participants gain valuable project management, coordination, and implementation experience while being immersed in local culture and community life. These experiences not only strengthen personal and professional skills but also create lasting positive impacts on local children and families who benefit from each project.
Through our language teaching internship program, participants are placed in government and private schools for either three or six months, according to their preference. They work closely with local teachers, sharing their knowledge and international perspectives. This exchange helps students gain exposure to native or fluent speakers, improving their language skills and confidence. At the same time, Sri Lankan schools benefit from the additional support, helping to bridge the gap caused by the shortage of language teachers.
